Peak signs of 'long COVID' after mild virus
case resolves in about a year
Most people with "long COVID" after a mild case of the
COVID-19 virus have their symptoms resolved after 12 months
"Prolonged COVID" is defined by the use of CDC facilities
due to the prolonged effects of a COVID infection
The note, published on January 11, 2023 in BMJ,
a peer-reviewed alternative scientific journal
examined 1,913,234 data from affected individuals
from the Israeli health services HMO Maccabi.
The nearly 2 million patients were tested for
COVID-19 during the period from March 2020 to October 2021.
The researchers then compared those patients to similar patients
who did not appear well for the virus.
The study authors created a list of 70 "long-term
COVID" symptoms and analyzed data
Anyone who has been hospitalized for COVID-19 was excluded from the practice as
they were deemed not to have a "mild" case of the virus.
